I was inspired to create the site when I was talking on the phone with my mother about my own video setup at home, and was more than a little surprised at how interested she was in alternative ways of accessing video. After all, my mother had been resistant to both computers and the internet for years, and now she was ready to embrace both—not just because of easier communication with family and friends, but also the added control she'd have with video. About the same time, networks started running ads promoting the upcoming change from analog to digital broadcasting, and I realized how much the the world of video has changed in the last five years.
Secret of Signals explores the ongoing revolution in video, especially with the introduction of new technologies and the impact of the internet on media publication and access.
